Lilac is the new creation by Richard Siegal for the Staatstheater Nürnberg Ballet of Difference, with original music by Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch — the latest chapter of a collaboration that has lasted for over ten years.
The piece premiered as the culmination of Noise Signal Silence, the evening that opened Siegal’s first season as ballet director and chief choreographer at the Staatstheater Nürnberg, alongside his works Oval and Unitxt to music by Alva Noto. Lilac revisits and reinterprets earlier works, connecting them with the identity of the newly founded company.
