Ballet Of Difference
For this particular project, I’ve been asked to imagine poly-rhythmical material in order to feed the choreographic and the creative process in general.
The workflow was really fun and interesting.
Analysing African or contemporary occidental (but based on African) scores, i extrapolated different material and with Richard Siegal we developed a complex musical course.
Richard Siegal does not simply choreograph his dancers to the music, but instead he lets their bodies produce sounds themselves.
The superimposed movement and sound patterns create a polyrhythmic
interaction as a reflection upon unity and plurality, community and difference.
